It was actually founded in 1983 with the name of Hills Christian Life Centre, Brian Houston and his wife Bobbie Houston.

It was formerly pastored by Brian’s father, Pastor Frank Houston, a small congragação under the name Sydney Christian Life Centre. Four years later, reached 900 members.

The Ministry of Praise Hillsong Music Australia is known worldwide and is led by Brian and Bobbie Houston, Darlene Zschech Today belongs to = Unlimited church but became a benchmark in contemporary praise and worship leader at Hillsong Church. Since 1992, the ministry has released about 40 albums.

In a worship on Sundays, you can have up to 35,000 people in the church in Sydney in Baulkham Hills. The church incorporates two major worship centers, a municipal Connection Groups that contribute in many services and ministries. These include Hillsong Music Australia, Hillsong Foundation, Hillsong Network, Hillsong Conference and the Hillsong International Leadership College (plus side projects led by Pastor Bobbie Houston, and the Sisterhood that, among other roles, helps women in the fight against cancer).
